Having graduated from the Maryland University of Integrative Health with a Master of Acupuncture, I-Hsin Tammy Chang is a certified diplomat by the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and a licensed acupuncturist by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Medicine.
Tammy considers acupuncture an art – a combination and integration of identifying multiple symptoms, incorporating channel relationships, and combining locations of points to create a synergy that benefits the person. It is a gentle nudge to a persons’ internal environment and to bring it back to equilibrium. Besides using five elements & balancing acupuncture methods, Tammy also incorporates hand, auricular, scalp and Korean acupuncture theories to elicit the best results for her patients. She firmly believes in continuing education and constantly expanding her treatment techniques.
Tammy believes in partnership with her patients and encourages their feedbacks. She accepts health insurances that cover acupuncture treatments.
Nowadays, not only has World Health Organization proclaimed the efficacy of acupuncture, but the acupuncture treatment method has been utilized by the US Armed Forces, Mayo Clinics, Cleveland Clinic, INOVA Loudon Free Clinic and court ordinance that particularly address drug addiction.
