Kathleen LaBarbera

(703) 244-8478
RN., M.Ac., Dipl.Ac., L.Ac.,
Licensed Acupuncturist
Kathleen is a Registered Nurse that has always believed in the importance of holistic care. Her medical and psychiatric nursing experience informs her understanding of the way the mind and body function, from a medical perspective, and blends with her training in acupuncture. Kathleen became interested in studying acupuncture after her own experience with acupuncture treatments for a health issue. Acupuncture treatments, with no surgery or side effects, produced phenomenal results and better health, which was more than she could have hoped for. Acupuncture creates balance which empowers the body’s natural healing capabilities. Her personal outcomes from this nature based ancient medicine inspired her to learn more.
Kathleen received her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the Maryland University of Integrative Health where she received extensive clinical training. She is a Nationally Board certified Acupuncturist, licensed in Virginia and Maryland. Her 25+ years of nursing experience after graduating from the University of Rochester School of Nursing enable her to combine western with eastern medicine concepts to treat the whole person with a calming, caring and professional approach.
She is grateful to be able to bring this medicine to her patients and is truly honored and inspired to walk beside her patients. Kathleen and her husband, Tony, raised four children in Vienna and continue to live happily in the community with their dog Murphy.
